How to Succeed in Creating Effective Meeting Places focused on Reuse and Sharing? Circular meeting places play a vital role in reducing material consumption while promoting sharing and circulation within a circular economy. They serve not only to minimize waste and keep resources in circulation but also to facilitate connections among people. These meeting places foster innovation, create a sense of unity, and hold significant value for the local community.

On Thursday, November 28, Bykuben hosted a seminar at Alna bydels hus in Furuset as part of Ombruksuka 2024. During this event, meeting places such as Alna Gründerhub, Ellingsrud klimanettverk, Lindeberglokalet, and FUBIAK shared insights on how they contribute to increased reuse and social interaction. They discussed their engagement with the local community and some of the challenges they face.

The seminar also featured the launch of a handbook for circular meeting places, along with a communal meal made from surplus food, prepared in collaboration with Food Studio. This event, known as Surplus Table, transforms leftovers and surplus food—items that would otherwise be discarded—into a delightful meal. The ingredients come from local stores and producers, allowing us to rescue goods that need saving.
